The present work will explore a very precise historic period of the European construction project: from 1945 to present time. In here, we will focus the way as the institutions that make integrant part of our daily life were projected and implemented at the field. At the same time we extend our attention to the delicate political and economic balances which are the very basis of the European building, not forgetting the crucial role that material networks (of transports, energy and telecommunications, etc.) implanted in the continent played in this process. We will, equally, dispense some lines to the dis-connect, prior and posterior re-connect which happened in the continent.
O presente trabalho incidirá sobre um período histórico do projecto de construção europeia bem definido: desde 1945 até ao presente. Aqui focaremos, entre outros, o modo como foram projectadas e implementadas no terreno as instituições que hoje constituem parte integrante do nosso quotidiano. Paralelamente, estenderemos a nossa atenção aos delicados equilibrios políticos e económicos sobre os quais foi edificado o edifício europeu, não esquecendo o papel crucial que as redes físicas trans-nacionais (de transportes, energéticas, de telecomunicações, etc.) implantadas no continente desempenharam neste processo. Não deixaremos, igualmente, de dispensar algumas linhas ao des-ligar, primeiro, e, posterior, re-ligar operado no continente.
